How to embed a YouTube video in a PowerPoint presentation?

  1. Enable developer tab.
  2. Go to ribbon and click Developer tab.
  3. Click More Controls.
  4. Choose Shockwave Flash Object from the list.
  5. Draw the object in the slide.
  6. Right click the object.
  7. Choose Property sheet from the list.
  8. Prepare an url of the YouTube video. Remove ‘watch?‘ and replace the ‘=‘ sign with a ‘/‘. It should be ‘http://www.youtube.com/v/‘ instead of ‘http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
  9. Paste this url into Movie field in the Properties.

Note: You can add ‘&autoplay=1‘ in the end of your YouTube link. It makes your video autoplay.

How to show the Developer tab in PowerPoint?

  1. To see the developer tab, choose File tab, click Options.
  2. In the dialog box, select the Configure Ribbon button.
  3. In the right part of the window in the middle there is a Developer option. Tick it.
  4. Click OK to close the Options dialog box.
  5. Developer tab appears as the last tab.
